Busy Weekend!

working on making those neck muscles so strong!
the sweet ladies from the shower!
hanging out with his E!
watching baseball with Uncle Tate!
I LOVE those cheeks!
naptime with Uncle Matt (and yes Matt got him to sleep all on his own!)

This weekend was very busy, but very fun! It started on Saturday with a shower for me and Grant with some of the older ladies from my church. It was a last minute thing, but it was very sweet! It is so nice that we have so many people that love us and do these sweet things for us! I know things could be totally different, and it makes me feel good to have so much support. Then all three of us went to my mom's house and went to dinner with Uncle Matt. We stayed at my mom's house because Chris was supposed to get up very early in the morning to go fishing with David, but David got food poisioning the night before so they didn't end up going fishing offshore. Chris came back home today and went fishing at the lake with his buddy, while Grant and I stayed at my mom's and celebrated my cousin Caleb's birthday! But now we are all back home and ready to start another busy week! I am going to go to work in the afternoon and Chris is taking his test to be an in-charge paramedic at work! So if I dont update often this week, you will know where I am. Have a good week everyone!

Work Week

Last week I worked again, thats why I haven't updated until now! It was a very busy week! I took Grant with me every single day, so it was a little bit of extra work, but I am not complaining because I love spending as much time with him as I can. He loves going to work with me! He also loves Lauren, the little girl that I babysit for. I think he knows her voice and KJ's because I was with them the majority of the time that I was pregnant. Even the first day that he met her and KJ he felt at ease with them. Chris was going to watch him one of the days that I went to work, but then he thought twice about it because I was going to be gone for 12 hours. So this week he is going to start watching him while I run errands, so that he can get used to it! Here are some pics I took this week while I was at work:

Still Growing...

Grant doing great! He is still sleeping through the night and is very happy during the day. He really only fusses when he is hungry, has a dirty diaper, or is tired! He is smiling so much now! I could sit and stare at him all day and most days I do :)! He has also learned the pouty face and he now uses that whenever he is not getting what he wants! It is so cute, but it also breaks our hearts whenever he does it. I'm sure he will be using that more and more as he gets older to get what he wants. On Thursday night he slept in his crib for the first time. He stayed in there until about 3am but then he wanted to go back into his swing! Last night we tried it again and he stayed in there only until about 11pm and then he wanted to sleep in his swing. Each night we will keep trying and hopefully eventually he will sleep in there the whole night. He loves to stand up on our legs and still LOVES his exersaucer! Here are some pics I took this week:

still loves to take a bath too!

chimpmunk cheeks
can pretty much hold his head up on his own!

loves to stand up on daddy's lap!

still trying to get that hand in his mouth!

smiling more than ever!

so happy in his exersaucer!

Nap Time...

Today is a good day! It is naptime at our house and has been for about the last two hours...which is very rare! I am trying to finish up this entry before he wakes up which I know will be soon! He is still sleeping all night every night, but I was up all night last night with a fever of 102 and really bad chills. I think I have just been going non-stop and not taking enough time for myself and it finally caught up with me! But today I feel better, and I am really glad that he is napping, so I can have some down time for myself! On Sunday I put him in his exersaucer just to see how he would like it because he doesn't like being held like a newborn anymore and just wants to stand on my legs, and he LOVED it! He is still a little to small for the seat so I put a rolled up towel in there with him. He can hold his head up all by himself while he is in there and Chris said he saw him today try to grab for one of the toys on there. Also as you can see in one of the pictures below he has learned how to suck his thumb. He still likes his passy, but at night when he is going to sleep he usually spits out the passy and sucks on his fist/thumb while falling asleep! Here are some pics of him in his exersaucer and sucking his thumb:
so precious!

learned that from his mom! :)

such a happy boy!

still loves his passy during the day!

very interested in those toys!

ps. happy birthday aunt deanna!

Back to Work!

I know I said I was going to try hard to keep this blog updated and I really had good intentions of doing so but this week I went back to work watching KJ and Lauren so I have been a little busy! I have been very blessed because I am able to take Grant with me to work so I don't have to leave him for the day and anyone who knows me knows that I do not like the idea of that! Grant is still doing really well! I made his urologist appt for September 17th, so I will let you all know how that goes. He is still sleeping about 10 hours a night ( I know we are VERY lucky), but he is not taking as many naps during the day so that makes him grumpy sometimes and harder to get to sleep at night! His personality is coming out more and more everyday! I am excited for the months to come to see how much he changes because even in just 10 weeks he already looks like a different baby. He is smiling so much now and he smiles really big when you look him in the eyes and say "Hey" in a deep voice...he loves that...sometimes he even starts laughing. Here are a few pictures I took this week:
Hanging out with his daddy!

Such a happy boy after his bath!

He loves this position on the couch!

I can't believe he is already 10 weeks old!

I think he is still a little young to be sitting in this seat, but since he is so strong I decided to give it a try!

E-ma's Birthday

Last night Eric, Tate, Matt, me and Grant all went out to dinner for my mom's birthday. Unfortunately, Chris couldn't go with us because he was working. I was a little anxious about it because I wasn't sure how Grant would behave. The resturant was very small and I was worried if he started screaming that everyone would be able to hear it and start staring. But thankfully he was such a good boy, he slept for a little bit then and then just sat in my lap when he woke up while I finished my dinner. Then we played pass the baby and it was good for Uncle Tate and Matt to get to see him, they have both been out of town for the majority of the summer!

Baby Grant Update and Lake Travis Trip!

Hey everybody! I started this blog so friends and family that live out of town or don't see the little man that often can stay updated on how he is doing! I will try my hardest to keep the blog updated and post new pictures at least twice a week!

Here is a recent update:
Grant turned 2 months old last Wednesday and at his last doctors appointment he weighed 11 lbs 14.5 ounces. He was almost 24 inches long and is in the 50th percentile for his weight and 60th percentile for his height. He is sleeping through the night now! That is a very exciting thing in our house now! He goes to sleep about 9 at night and wakes up at about 8 in the morning! During the day he is very awake and alert. He takes a nap in the morning for about 2 hours and then takes another nap around 4 and sleeps until about 7. He wakes up from that nap has his dinner and bath and then goes to bed and sleeps the rest of the night...for now! We know that it could change any time, but its nice while it lasts. He is smiling so much now and it makes my day everytime that he smiles at me!

We just got back from a week at lake Travis with Grandma Karen and Aunt Deanna! We had a blast! Grant got in the lake twice. The first time he was not to happy with us because we made him wear a life jacket and then the second time he only stayed in the lake for about 10 minutes before he got cold and fussy! Needless to say, I think our son is going to be a pool baby for the time being, but he is a definite water baby! Chris' cousin Jon and his wife Kelly and their little boy Noah also came up to the lake and that was alot of fun to spend time with them.
