8 Months Old!!

Yesterday, Grant turned 8 months old! I can't believe it. Time has gone by soo fast! This is so far my favorite stage, but sometimes I do miss being able to hold him in my arms for more than 2 minutes before he starts squirming to get away.

Here are his latest:
-He waves bye-bye
-He is really good and really fast at army-crawling
-He gets up on all fours and rocks back and forward--he also puts one arm and one leg in front of the other, but he can't quite figure out how to put it all together
-He loves to eat-he will eat just about anything you put in front of him--some of his favorite things include: red apples, red grapes, cheese, bananas, wheat bread slices, and oranges
-He has 2 teeth on the bottom
-He can pull himself up on just about anything, and now he can bring himself to sit back down
-He sleeps for about 12 hours a night (I wish I could say that he does that without waking up at all, but he hasn't quite figured out that part yet)
-He absolutely loves bath time!
-He loves his paci

We love him sooo much and are having so much fun with him! Here are a few pictures of him on his big EIGHTH month birthday!

Saturday Morning Fun!

I love Saturday mornings becasue we usually have nothing to do and no where to be. This morning was no different. Grant loves to play, so we usually spend the whole morning doing just that! He is getting so big and so strong. He loves to stand up, even though he is still working on his balance. Here are a few pics from our playtime this morning:

handsome boy:)
not sure what he was looking at-probably his Baby Einstein video

Oakley is helping me keep my balance

he is still not to sure about those teeth!

King of the Jungle!

One of our friends got Grant this adorable ride-on lion. I thought that he would be to little for it still, but I put him on it tonight just to see how he would react and he LOVED it. He stayed on it long enough by himself for me to take a couple of pictures. He would put his legs on the floor and try to push down with his feet to stand up. He is getting so strong! We only had one little mishap, he got tired of standing and tried to sit back down, but he lost his balance and fell off the side. Thankfully he landed on his stuffed puppy that was laying next to him, so no bonks this time! :)

this is fun!
he is a drool machine!

look, no hands :)

this is the face he gets when he is trying so hard to do something (here he is trying to push up)

Up, Up and Away

We have now moved on to bigger and better things. This little man no longer wants to sit on his bottom or be on his stomach, he wants to stand. He pulls up on everything that he can get to. Since he can't quite crawl yet, he will just roll his way over to what he wants. He has slowly gotten more comfortable with standing on his knees for longer periods at a time. He has done this a few times before but usually he doesn't pull up as far and then cries because he can't sit back down on his bootie. Yesterday he stayed up there for a good while and then even tried to figure out how he could either get up onto his feet or crawl over to the other side. I know very soon we are going to have our hands full chasing him all around the house.

okay mom, are you watching?

i am so big!

going to be such a little hearbreaker!

okay I am ready to sit down now!

My mom got him these adorable jammies for Christmas and they say Captain Heartbreaker on them. It makes me sad because he is growing so much everytime I turn around. In this pictures I can definitely see how big he is getting!

Poppy's Birthday Weekend!

We went to Austin the weekend of the 2nd with my mom's whole side of the family and stayed at the Lost Pines Hyatt in Bastrop. Everybody was there to celebrate, except Big E who had the flu that weekend! Aunt Ruth even came in to visit for the week. This was also the weekend that Grant got his first big OUCH! He fell off the bed at the hotel and hit his head on the nightstand. I don't know who was more terrified, me or him. He had a nice big purple bruise on his head the next morning, and for the following week. But it is all healed now, and I know that this was only the first of many OUCHes. Later that week a lady commented on his bruise and asked how he got it and then she went on to say, "this is the age where it looks like you beat them because of all the bumps and bruises that they have" and I don't think she could have said it any better!
sitting with the birthday man!
okay I'm ready to come back and sit with you!
